School Improvement

The Huron Intermediate School District is the official School Improvement office of record for the eight local districts and seven rural school districts it serves. HISD staff is available to assist local school districts with their school improvement process and monitor progress reports.

Local school district school improvement plan components should include:

Goals centered on student academic learning
Strategies to accomplish the goals
Evaluation of the plan
Development of alternative measures of assessment that will provide authentic assessment of pupils’ achievement, skills, and competencies
Methods for effective use of technology as a way of improving learning and delivery of services and for integration of evolving technology in the curriculum
Ways to make available in as many fields as practicable opportunities for structured on-the-job learning, such as apprenticeships, combined with classroom instruction
